The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog mug #2 with pulled handle. Low-fire mixed red and white clay, underglazes and clear glaze. Wheel thrown.

As much as I like both my drawing and lettering on this piece, it’s got a number of annoying defects. First of all there are patches of grey colour on the inside, possibly sandpaper sand. It was trimmed on a chuck which left very unsightly marks; I tried to sand the marks away but instead of removing the marks some sand obviously got logged inside the grooves and caused the colouration. The terracotta underglaze also burnt away and no trace of the reddish brown is left.
