Mishima snail ceramic shot glass (⌀ 2″, 30 mL). Mid-fire white clay, slip and glazes. Wheel thrown and reduction fired to cone 6.
This piece was made from trimmings, and I just wedged it on the wheel, so I was mildly surprised after the bisque firing that this piece actually seemed to be structurally sound. Also, I originally planned to practice some mishima (inlaying) with this piece but as you can see from the pictures, I thought the inlaying did not work out, so I just glazed the patterns over. After the final firing I was surprised to see that the patterns I thought I had scraped off are actually intact.
