Fired

Tile study 3. Mid-fire Mid Red and white clay and glazes. Wheel thrown and fired to cone 6.

This is a study I did on tiles with the aim to eventually re-create the “broken maple leaf” that was lost in February.

Leaves bisqued in a saggar seems to be more fragile than those bisqued uncovered; the next study I do will probably involve designing a more complex saggar where I can place the tile inside the saggar and fire the tile together with the leaves in one firing so I won’t have to disturb the leaves afterwards.
